Rapid Emergency Salvage: Barge 114
The Challenge
Following a catastrophic structural failure, Barge 114 capsized in the primary shipping channel of the Mississippi River. The incident blocked all commercial traffic, costing the local economy an estimated $2.4M per hour in delayed logistics. Extreme river currents and zero-visibility conditions made standard recovery operations impossible.
The Solution
Divecom deployed a 24/7 rapid response team within 4 hours. Using high-frequency sonar mapping, we identified structural anchor points. Divers executed precision underwater thermal cutting to sectionalize the hull, followed by a coordinated 400-ton crane lift. We utilized custom-engineered lifting slings designed specifically for the vessel.
The Result
"Passed all follow-up USACE engineering inspections and USCG channel safety protocols."
